I'm obsessed with design. I could stop here and you'd know enough about me.
I spend most of my free time playing outside, and I always have -- from the lakes and four seasons of the midwest, to the bright sun and dramatic mountains of the southwest, to the lush, year-round blossoms, mountains and waters of the northwest. My art has been inspired by nature from grade school on.
More recently inspired by my daughter's love of anything sparkly, I began designing a few pieces with mixed media elements -- sequins, beads, papers. Encouraged by the reactions to these pieces, I continued to experiment with more sophisticated designs. The transition to my business happened as organically as, "Oh, I love that! Where did you get it?" In early 2007 I started Allison Jane Style. My latest adventure is bringing my art to you online.
I'm thrilled to show my work at the Art Stall Gallery in Seattle's Pike Place Market. The energy is endless and spirits are always high. The gallery shows artwork by 14 local artists.
I studied art at Arizona State University. After graduating, I moved to Seattle and studied art at the University of Washington and Seattle Pacific University, and was incredibly fortunate to spend time on the side sketching and painting with Lisel Salzer. I received my teaching degree from SPU and taught high school art classes in the Seattle area until I had kids. My careers of mom, artist and designer continue today from my home and studio in Sammamish, WA.
